Adhesion meter SM-1 is designed to determine and control adhesion, cohesion and mixed type of destruction of the insulating coating of pipelines based on bitumen. The device is used for qualitative and quantitative control and determination of the force or force of adhesion of a protective coating to the surface of a metal pipeline (sample).

The adhesion meter SM-1 is used to control the testing and scheduled inspections of metal structures for defects in the coating and to periodically monitor the quality of insulation work and contact diagnostics and control the strength of coatings. The coating control device works effectively both in the factory and in the field.

The protective coating control device CM-1 consists of a housing, inside which is located a movable system of driving and driven rods connected by a calibrated spring. The leading horizontal rod of the device, designed to compress the spring, is driven by the rotation of a screw fixed in the end part of the control device housing. A bracket with an adjusting screw is fixed on the rod, designed to transfer the values of the linear deformation of the calibrated spring to the movable leg of the indicator. The indicator is attached to the bracket. The knife for shearing the protective coating sample is fixed inside a vertical rod that moves when the screw rotates. To mount the device on the surface of an insulated pipeline (sample), four support knives are fixed on the lower base of the device body.

According to Appendix 4 of GOST 25812-83, the measurement and control of the adhesion of protective coatings using the CM-1 device is carried out according to method B.

Measurements of the protective coatings of the sample with an adhesive meter are carried out in the temperature range of the protective coating from 258 to 298 K (from minus 15 to 25 °C). At temperatures above 298 K (25 °C), an indicator of less than 0.2 MPa (2.00 kgf / cm2) is allowed, which characterizes the adhesion of the material.

Calibration of the adhesion meter CM1 is carried out by the manufacturer according to the method MK5024273.02.14. The first calibration of the assembled product is carried out before its sale. The results of equipment verification are recorded in the table "Calibration results". The calibration interval of the instrument is 1 year.
