The concrete strength meter IPS-MG4.03 is designed to determine the strength of concrete by the impact pulse method according to GOST 22690, based on a pre-established relationship between the strength of concrete determined when testing samples in a press and the measured acceleration that occurs when the indenter of the meter interacts with the concrete sample, at a constant impact energy (E=0.12 J).

Scope of application of the meter: determination of the strength of concrete, mortar in the construction industry and construction sites, as well as in the survey of operated buildings and structures. The IPS-MG4.03 meter can be used to control the strength of bricks and building ceramics, and also allows you to evaluate the physical and mechanical properties of building materials in samples and products (strength, hardness, elastic-plastic properties), identify inhomogeneities, areas of poor compaction, etc.

Unlike analogs, the devices are equipped with:

  • the device for entering the coefficient of coincidence of the Cop for the operational clarification of the basic calibration characteristics in accordance with Annex G GOST 22690;
  • a device for marking measurements by the type of the controlled product (beam, plate, truss, etc.);
  • a function for excluding an erroneous intermediate value.

The concrete strength meter IPS-MG4.03 has a non-volatile memory, a data transfer mode to a computer via a USB port, and is equipped with a device for entering individual calibration dependencies set by the user into the software device.

Measuring the strength of concrete consists in applying a series of up to 15 impacts on a controlled area of the product, the electronic unit evaluates the hardness and elastic-plastic properties of the tested material using the shock pulse parameters received from the sclerometer, converts the pulse parameter into strength and calculates the corresponding concrete class.

The algorithm for processing the measurement results includes:

  • averaging intermediate values;
  • comparison of each intermediate value with the average, followed by rejection of abnormal values;
  • averaging the remaining intermediate values after rejection;
  • indication and recording in memory of the final value of the strength and class of concrete.

The IPS-MG4.03 modification is also equipped with the function of calculating the concrete class B with the possibility of selecting the coefficient of variation, is equipped with 44 basic calibration characteristics that take into account the type of concrete, its age and the hardening mode, has a backlit display, a real-time clock, the function of viewing intermediate values of concrete strength and is equipped with the ability to refine the basic calibration characteristics depending on the hardening conditions and the age of concrete.

The device is powered by high-capacity lithium polymer batteries.
