The A1207U thickness gauge is a universal model of a miniature thickness gauge that combines convenience and ease of use with advanced technical capabilities.

The principle of operation of the thickness gauge is to measure the time of double passage of ultrasonic pulses through the test object from one surface to another, recalculated into a thickness value using a known velocity value. To emit ultrasonic pulses into the test object and receive their reflections, a piezoelectric transducer built into the body of the thickness gauge is used, which is installed on the surface of the test object in the place where measurements are to be taken.

The A1207U thickness gauge is made in a portable monoblock design with a built-in battery and with the possibility of using a built-in replaceable combined transducer S1573 5.0A0D8CL with a frequency of 5 MHz or a separate-combined transducer D1572 10.0A0D6CL with a frequency of 10 MHz. The design provides for the possibility of independent replacement of the built-in transducer when its working surface is worn out, by unscrewing the tip and disconnecting the transducer from the device board without additional tools.

The A1207U ultrasonic thickness gauge can be used in laboratory, field, workshop conditions in various industries with mandatory preliminary surface preparation and the use of contact lubricant, which can be various oils, water, glycerin, special contact fluids, gels for ultrasonic testing (AKC-gel) and etc.
